The benefit of rapid transport to a designated Trauma Center, or Certified Cardiac and Stroke Center has been demonstrated by years of research. To meet that need, University Hospitals has put together plans that delineate which patients should receive care at a Trauma Center or Certified Cardiac and Stroke Center. The question for EMS, particularly rural EMS and small community hospitals or stand-alone emergency departments is how to safely move these patients rapidly from point A to point B. University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Air Methods have come together to offer the services of University Hospitals MedEvac to meet these needs of the community.
